We still have no driveway and no final grade. We had to wait when we moved in during the start of winter and we were well aware that we would wait until spring to have these items done but I never imagined that it would be memorial day and I would still be parking on rocks and my kids playing in dirt, hay and leftover nails from the building process. Our beautiful house that we love is on a beautiful street and yet we have neither one of these items. I love our project manager but we were supposed to have a driveway 2 weeks ago. We are now in our 3rd week and still the same excuse. That the concrete company had 2 employees with some personal issues. I am not un-sympathetic but that is also not how you run a business. Come on Ryan Homes, call someone else now and lets get a move on. I am tired of the excuses. Also, to add insult to injury today I am told that other houses that are under construction need to have their driveways poured done so the people can close.
So, we closed 7 months ago and you have your money and so...we don't matter??? We went thru this long process to have a yard for our daughters and still our play set sits in the garage unopened and will likely remain there for a couple more months. We won't get it up for their birthday's as we had planned and we will get to have a birthday party somewhere else because we don't have anywhere for kids to play. Our kids play with the rocks in the driveway and in the street but a whole birthday party would not be okay like that. I find this situation to be unacceptable and to learn that the house where no one lives yet has a beautiful driveway that was cut out and poured today made me utterly upset. So, the concrete people were on our street and they could only do one driveway? They couldn't cut out and pour the rest?
We don't even have our exterior paint done so the outside of our house isn't finished and we still have staple holes everywhere. I like our project manager but he basically said that in our contract it states they only have to have it done by June 30th. So I asked.."then should I no longer expect the driveway we were promised now 3 weeks ago?" He stated he was doing the best he can. I asked why he had not found more concrete people and he said he can't just "take them off the street" I said right but you have had this issue for almost 3 weeks by now. It is high time someone does something.
We have to wait 10 days for our final grade AFTER our driveway is poured and sits 10 full days. For those of you doing the math that is June 20th if they poured it this week. We have our landscaper on stand by and can't even get them here to rock hound and put in our lawn. We have NOTHING. No flowers, no driveway, no grass, no sidewalks and no hope.
I had an amazing experience up till this point. We were pushed aside by Plygem for a window fix and have been nothing but patient for everything else but here is the thing. Once you close, you apparently don't matter. They will prioritize the new builds over yours and just leave you hanging.
Yes, I realize our contract says June 3oth but we were told that was the worse case scenario and that it would be done early weather permitting. Well we have had great weather and just excuses.
I am so utterly disappointed and stuck in our rock driveway that is so uneven our 22 month old falls and has a hard time walking. Our 3 year old can't pedal up the "driveway" we have to constantly be careful of the kids falling in the dirt and accidentally falling on a sharp stick, a branch, sharp rock, old cigarette butt or nail.
Sorry for the rant, I would love advice..any advice.
