For My Mother - Kathy's Letter

 Kathy has guest posted on Happily Ever Rushed before so I am grateful to have here as a guest again. Kathy is one of my very best friends. As a mother herself she has shown strength and kindness and the will to fight for her children. She is always a support to me and for that I wish her and her wonderful Mother a very Happy Mother's day.

Dear Mom,

Mother- (muhth-er, muhth-ers)
 Noun 1. The person who raises, loves and cares for you;
2. The one who comforts you when you are sick;
 3. The woman who laughs with you and cries with you;
4. The person who loves you even when you aren’t exactly lovable;
5. Someone who exhibits infinite patience.

  I found this definition of “Mother” and to me, is the utmost perfect way to define you! I don’t know if I can fully put into words the amount of love I have for you, but I will try.

 You raised me to be a strong woman, just like you! You instilled independence and responsibility in me and has helped me become who I am today. You are definitely my number one cheerleader and always has been!! You are always in my corner, lifting me up, making sure I knew I could do whatever I wanted and be successful at it. Even when my confidence waivered, yours never did.

When I am sick, you are the first person I want to call. You still try to baby me, even if it’s just over the phone! When I have news to share, whether good or bad, you are who I want to share it with.

Cried with me? Ha, that’s an understatement! Too many times to tell. From my first heartbreak, to the arrival of my 3 kids. You were right there, holding my hand and encouraging me! And what an amazing grandma you are! I think back to when Brooklyn was sick, and I know I wouldn’t have made it without you! You were not only there for me, through breakdowns, or Dr. appointments, watching the kids and helping me take care of her, but you were there for Brooklyn as well! You love and concern for her melted my heart! I remember seeing the pain and worry in your eyes, but you stayed strong for all of us! You will never know how much your love and support got us through it.

You have been through so much in your life, and always came out on top. I love that I am like you in so many ways, including sharing a name, but most grateful for your strength, compassion and perseverance. I just hope that you know how much you are loved and appreciated! Most of all I hope you are proud of the daughter you raised!

I love you Mom, Kathy
