For My Mother - Lauren's Letter

I am so happy to have my very good friend Lauren on the blog today. She was kind enough to take part in the #Formymother Mother's day letter series. Lauren has been in my life for a long time now and she herself is an amazing mother. She has kind, wonderful children because she is also kind and wonderful. Her friendship is a gift to me and to my family, I can't thank her enough!

Thank you Lauren and Happy Mother's day my friend!

Dear Mom,

I think about all the struggles, heartache, and waiting you had to go through to be a mother. Seven long years of infertility, I just can’t imagine! All that for ME! I look at pictures of you pregnant with me…glowing…beautiful. I can tell you loved me before I was even born. You have always put my sister and I first. Mom, you have always been there for me (even in the middle of the night and early morning) whenever I call or come over to see you. I know I can count on great advice, a hug, and prayers. There are so many things I want to thank you for. You are so loving, giving, inspiring, honest, and have taught me how to be a strong woman and mother of faith. I thank you for raising us in the church, teaching us the word of God, the importance of prayer, and faith in our Lord.

Some of my most fond memories are staying up all night with you watching “I Love Lucy” and “Lifetime” movies and eating snacks (remember we used to go to Sheetz in the middle of the night when we had cravings). We were always so tired the next day. We both love our naps, sleeping in, and staying up late at night. I feel honored when people say, “you are just like your mother!” I look up to your outgoing, strong-willed, loving, glowing personality! At times, we are so much alike that we can argue like sisters. It is all out of love and passion for our strong relationship. You are my “guardian” and “#1 cheerleader!” I notice it all… I wish I could express how much it means to me!

I can only hope that I can continue to be a role model of a mother to my children, as you have been to me.

I am so proud to call you my mommy!
 I love you!!!!
Xoxoxo

Love always,
Lauren
