Every woman dreams of owning a perfect closet. However, a perfect closet cannot be simply bought; instead you have to create it yourself. If you love spending time in your closet, but you are somewhat dissatisfied with the way it looks, you should do something about it. There are several ways you can completely transform your closet, and here are just a few of them.
Use every corner
If you want to maximize the amount of space you have in your closet, you should use every single corner of it, including depth and height. No matter if it’s a walk-in closet or an ordinary wardrobe, everything should be organized in such a way that you have enough space to fit all of your clothes but still make them easy to see and find. Think about adding as many shelves as possible; especially in the corners. Also, a nice carousel could fill up the unused space and make it easier for you to see your clothes.
Set up wallpaper
You should create an accent wall in your closet and the easiest way to do it is with wallpaper. Find some chick wallpaper that will provide some contrast to your clothes and instantly change the dynamics of your walk-in closet. Wallpapers can also spice up your smaller wardrobe. Add some color with them behind the top shelves or a hanging rod, and every time you move your clothes you will be showered with beautiful colors.
Add a vanity
A stylish vanity is every woman’s best friend. Not only does it add a nice elegant touch to every closet, but it has many functions as well. Opt for a vanity that has built-in drawers or cabinets where you can store some of your delicate clothes. The top of the vanity can be used for storing your makeup products, scented candles or other decorations. If you add a mirror to that vanity, you will create a comfortable station for applying makeup.
Plenty of mirrors
Every closet needs mirrors. If you have a walk-in closet make sure to hang up as many mirrors as the space allows you. You can put one above your vanity for applying makeup or use a big wall mirror for trying out clothes. However, if you don’t have a big, lush, walk-in closet, then you can opt for sliding wardrobe doors with mirrors, save space and create a nice outfitting area in your bedroom. Additionally, mirrors will create an illusion of a bigger closet, and they will reflect the light throughout the space evenly.
Many people don’t even consider setting up hooks in their closets. However, these little items are quite useful. If you install them on the inside of your doors, you can easily hang your scarves, handbags and hats on them which can serve as a beautiful décor when you open the doors. Also, they are major space savers and can help you find what you are looking for much easier.
A personal touch
If you want to make your closet even more personal you should decorate it with personal items. This is a perfect chance to fill the space with your favorite paintings, photos and some designer books and magazines. Also, you can bring in an oversized statement chair where you can contemplate your daily outfits. Further, you can even add a colorful carpet that will give the space a relaxed and comfortable feel.
Show off your shoes
You don’t have to hide your shoes in cabinets. Rather, put them on display and decorate your closet with them. You can use single shelves for each pair and organize them by size (from high heels to flats). Colors and materials of the shoes will dramatically change the atmosphere of your closet, while they will always be at your disposal.
Don’t settle for some mediocre closets and wardrobes. With these simple tips you can easily create a closet you always wanted and everyone deserves such luxury. Be creative, add a personal touch, organize your clothes and maximize the space you have. When you’ve finished, you will never want to leave your closet and the time you spend there will be even more enjoyable and fun.
