Diana Smith is guest hosting today to share some ideas on how to Modernize your kitchen. These are ideas that range from easy to larger projects. Check out these great ideas!

The kitchen is probably the most used room in the house. It is where you prepare all the meals for your family with love. However, you might’ve gotten bored with your kitchen’s outdated look and it’s high time you did something about it. There is a variety of easy ways to make your kitchen look more fashionable and modern and here are some creative ways to do it.
New coat of paint
A fresh coat of paint can make a great difference in your kitchen. Repaint the ceiling in a standard white shade to make the space look bigger. Move on to walls and consider an off-white hue to provide contrast. When that’s done you can repaint your cabinets and add some dynamics into the kitchen. If you like the monochrome look, you can stick to the white hues, but if you want more dynamics you can always choose a bolder colour. Additionally, consider creating an accent wall in a bolder colour and keep a board there for all your recipes and daily menus.

New hardware
It’s the little things that make every kitchen look gorgeous. You should think of hardware as the jewellery of your kitchen and pick it out carefully. Replace all the old shabby knobs with some more fun ones. Pick sleek shiny and modern hardware and put it on your cabinets and drawers. In a matter of seconds, your kitchen will look more polished, new and modernised.

Replace old appliances
If you have some extra renovation money, you should consider replacing all the old appliances you have. Old appliances only spend more money since they are outdated and their surfaces are probably beyond repair. Opt for some new shiny stainless steel appliances that can actually save you energy and money in the long run. However, if you’re on a tight budget, you can replace the fridge or the stove with chef appliances, while you can repair the rest.

Go monochrome
Accessories are the ones that usually provide colour. However, if you want something different and new, you should consider swapping the accessories for monochrome ones. What is good and interesting about monochrome looks is that you can mix several different shades and still make the whole look work. From butter to cream and bright white, all monochrome shades blend in well and can significantly change the looks of your kitchen while they keep it simple and elegant.
Replace the lighting fixtures
It’s amazing how much of a difference lighting fixtures can make. If your lighting is dated, it’s time to replace it with some modern versions. A nice elegant chandelier can make a big difference. However, if that’s too much for you, you can always opt for some bronze or steel pendant lighting fixtures and completely transform your kitchen.

Pay attention to countertops
Countertops are like a little black dress for a kitchen. They will be the first thing you notice when you walk in. That’s why you should keep them spacious and functional. If there are any patches and cracks on your old countertop, replace the whole surface. You can even opt for marble countertops whose patterns will provide a fun note in your kitchen. Also, don’t forget to accessorize them with some flowers and bowls of fruit in order to complete the look and prevent your kitchen from looking empty.

As you can see, you don’t have to spend a fortune in order to give your kitchen a makeover. Pay attention to the little things and freshen up the paint. Additionally, if you keep functionality in mind, you will manage to create a comfortable kitchen, filled with love that will look elegant, functional and modern.

  1. This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It is the old what goes around comes around routine. washer repair birmingham
