So your friends are getting married. The venue’s booked, menu's set and all the invitations have been sent. Yours arrived a week or so ago and you happily RSVPed that, yes, you'd like to be a part of their special day. There's just one problem: now you have to find the perfect present. No one wants to be the guest who gets the newlyweds a dud gift, so it's been playing on your mind ever since you sent your response. Luckily, there are some safe bets that any couple will appreciate.

Cooking Up A Storm.
The kitchen gets a bit of a workout, but for many, it's the last place they want to be. Give your friends something to look forward to when it's time to cook dinner by gifting them elegant cookware sets. We can't promise it'll make them love cooking but it'll definitely make them hate it a lot less.

Good Morning Sunshine.
The morning hustle isn't something anyone really looks forward to but if you buy the newlyweds some small kitchen appliances, you'll always put a smile on their face. Our top recommendations are a coffee maker for the caffeine addict and a blender for the one who always starts their day with a smoothie.

Slip into something a little more comfortable.
Everyone likes the feeling of high-quality bed linen. If they say they don't, they're lying. But many of us can't justify buying those expensive 1000tc Egyptian cotton sheets, and that's what makes them such a great wedding gift. The newlyweds have upgraded their relationship and helping them level up their bedding will be greatly appreciated.

Bookends.
If you're looking to go a little more low-key, consider getting the happy couple a nice set of bookends. They're the kind of thing you don't really think of until you need them but they'll be quite thankful not to have to hunt an alternative when the time comes to set up their shared home. It doesn't even matter if they aren’t really the type to curl up and read together because every house has at least a few books and if you choose the design wisely, they'll also make great decorations.

When all else fails.
If you're still completely stuck and just can't think of anything to save your life, consider getting a subscription service for them. Plenty of companies offer couples boxes and you can either select special treats specific to your friends or let everyone be surprised and delighted when the monthly delivery arrives. Be careful with this option, while a subscription box is definitely a wonderful gift idea, you might run into some issues if the newlyweds plan on moving house any time soon.

Gift giving is always stressful, no matter how well you know someone, you're always going to be wondering whether your choice is the perfect one right up until they open it. Wedding presents are even harder since you may not know both parties especially well. Stick to safe options like the ones outlined above if you're uncertain but don't be afraid to personalize them in a way that makes them special to your relationship with whichever party you know better (or both if you know them well).

Remember that what's most important to the couple is the fact that you're there to celebrate their special day with them, everything else is just the icing on the cake. Happy gift giving!
